A drab story from KK's desk

I got up early today, it was the most important day in my life I had an important date to keep. I jumped out of my bed, brushed my teeth and dashed to have a good shower. I spent an hour trying to choose a good attire. Various thoughts were running in my mind, should I put on my formals? No…no she may think that am too conservative. What about the Metallica tee-shirt the one which she raved about.. Suddenly I heard the beep of my mobile, I knew that it was her. She hinted that she was wearing a white chudi today. The message was clear she wanted me to come in my favorite white tee-shirt. Having dressed up for the occasion I wanted to rehearse for one last time, it was my zillionth rehearsal but still I couldn’t get the right flow of words.. I heard someone saying "Man you’ll screw it up for sure" , I turned around hastily to make sure all my friends were asleep and they were.

I was staring blankly at the mirror for a long time, the alarm of my watch shook me to reality and I realized that I was late. I dint want to disappoint her.. I ran down the stairs, kicked my bike, waited impatiently at the signals, sped, raced through streets and vehicles and reached our venue on time. For the first time in my life I was punctual and this is the first and best change a girl can bring into any lazy-ass. I waited patiently in my bike and then she came like a pleasant breeze, she was unusually beautiful that day. She waved at me and I hardly squeezed a smile out of my lips.

We decided to chat over a cup of coffee; she ordered coffee mocha for her and me some crap which I don’t remember. We talked about music, films, everything from Chinese economy to US and Iraq. What was happening to me? I was blabbering some useless shit. I said to myself act like a man say those magical words. The plan was simple but it’s the execution that squeezes the heck out of you..My hands were trembling with fear finally I mustered some courage and said “I have something important to tell you”

There are times in life when you would love to kill some of your useless friends, it was one such friend of mine who was calling me on my mobile , I switched off my mobile and looked at her, wait a minute.. what the heck happened all my zillion rehearsals went in vain. And she casually asked “Are you allright”. Only girls have mastered the art of asking the wrong questions at the wrong place and they do it with ease.“Yeah.. Iam, this place is kinda stuffy lets get out of here” I grappled.
From there we went to a restaurant, it was a wonderful place with beautiful chandeliers, the whole place had some kind of seraphic aroma. We went and sat in a beautiful table that had a lit candle in it. On the whole it was a perfect place for amateurs like me. I had no appetite for big food after all that wasn’t my mission of the day, so I placed the orders quickly I just wanted the guy to get the heck out of our table. She was looking gorgeous in that candle light, she was at her cutest best.
I took one deep breath and touched her, holding her hands in mine and with lots of passion in my heart I said “My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.”

With a sparkle in her eyes the Juliet in our play replied “Perfect!! Perfect !! That’s how our English professor wanted it to be”
